Someone on :iconnepitty:'s page had made an off-hand comment about wondering what a 1:1 scale Luna plush would look like. I set out to figure that out.

I copied my post from there to here, and then edited it a bit for some dimensions I'd missed.

A pony is defined as being anything under 14 hands tall at the withers (between the shoulder blades). 14 hands equals 56 inches, or 4'8". Assuming that Princess Celestia is the tallest pony in Equestria, as well as the tallest a pony can be while still remaining a "pony", this would place her as being just above eye level with a six foot tall man. An "average" pony in the show would be approximately 3'6" at the eyes.

Luna is shown riding beside Celestia, near the end of the second episode (20:18). While standing next to Celestia, the top of her head is almost exactly level with Celestia's withers, while her horn extends upwards, reaching the level of Celestia's eyes. In other words, Luna is almost exactly six feet tall, from hoof to horn.

Luna's body (not counting her tail) is approximately one third as long as she is tall, and her tail is typically shown as falling nearly straight down after coming out a short distance (approximately half the length of her body). Her legs are just longer than the length of her body, and her hooves have a width of about one third of her body's length, making their diameter approximately 8 inches (Hooves aren't exactly circles though, so the assumption could be made that her hooves are eight inches from front to back, and about six or seven inches wide). Her tail is a bit harder to get an accurate measurement for, but not impossible. Using a screenshot from an HD capture of episode two, Luna is 167 pixels tall. Using this same image then, the scale can be assumed of "2.3 pixels = 1 inch". Measuring the general curvature of her tail in the same scene, it is 74 pixels long (more or less, measuring the center), or 32 inches long (2 feet, eight inches). To summarize: She is about two feet "long", but her tail tends to come out by about a foot before falling to the ground another 1.667 feet to the ground, making her three feet long, with a 2.667 foot long tail. Her hooves are about eight inches long from front to back, and about 6 inches wide. Her legs narrow as they go from the hoof to her body, but measuring the exact dimension at each increment is nigh-impossible, so I'll only measure the top: the part of her leg that merges with her body is about 3.5 inches in diameter.

I can't find a good full body picture of Celestia for estimating her tail length, so I apologize for that. I do know it would be fucking huge though, because it's normally shown to be almost the size of her full body.

Estimating width is a bit difficult to do with precision. Celestia is shown to have a width of approximately half of her own length, and is about one and a fourth times as long as Luna, not counting either pony's tail. This makes Celestia two and a half feet long, and thus her width could be measured as being about 1.25 feet. Using a similar scale, Luna's chest is 1 foot across.

TL;DR: A "life-sized" Luna would be about 6 feet tall (counting her horn), 2 feet long with a 2.667 foot long tail, and 1 foot wide. Celestia would be almost 8 feet tall, counting her horn (which is about 1.5 feet tall while angled forward, and that's without factoring in the distance from her eyeline to the base of her horn, which is about 6 inches), 2.5 feet long (not counting her tail, which is fucking huge), and 1.25 feet wide.

Life size princess ponies would be fucking huge, bro.
